Inside COSCO

COSCO Shipping Lines in its current form was created in 2016 by merging COSCO and China Shipping, two state-owned giants, into a single container powerhouse. Combined with subsidiary OOCL, it ranks among the very largest carriers in the world.

As the anchor of the Ocean Alliance and a key instrument of China’s Belt and Road trade ambitions, COSCO pairs a vast fleet with major investments in terminals across Europe, the Mediterranean and beyond.
